One More Sleep till Christmas Day

I couldn’t resist sharing one of my favorite songs on Christmas Eve. Perhaps the most faithful version of A Christmas Carol is The Muppet Christmas Carol. There are some big names in this timeless classic, Kermit as Bob Cratchet, Michael Caine as Scrooge, and The Great Gonzo as Charles Dickens. The comedy between Gonzo and Rizzo the Rat is a magical pair up and I demand more movies from these comedy legends.

While the musical numbers overall are wonderful I absolutely love the song One More Sleep Till Christmas. It perfectly captures the spirit of Christmas and is given the perfect platform in Dickens work.

So on this Christmas Eve I’m singing along and hope that you will too. If you haven’t seen this gem of a film, what are you waiting for?! lyrical are below or you can watch it on YouTube here

One More Sleep Till Christmas

There’s magic in the air this evening
Magic in the air
The world is at her best, you know
When people love and care
The promise of excitment is one the night will keep
After all there’s only one more sleep till Christmas

The world has gotta smile today
The world has gotta glow
There’s no such thing as strangers
When a stranger says “Hello”
And everyone is family, we’re havin’ so much fun
After all there’s only one more sleep till Christmas

‘Tis the season to be jolly and joyous
With a burst of pleasure we feel it all right
It’s a season when the Saints can employ us
To spread the news about peace and to keep love alive

“Merry Christmas, so long!”

There’s somethin’ in the wind today that’s good for everyone
Yes, faith is our hearts today, we’re shinin’ like the sun
And everyone can feel it, the feelin’s runnin’ deep
After all there’s only one more sleep till Christmas
After all there’s only one more sleep till Christmas Day

Until next time…
